Random Ramblings

I just took Mary's parents back to the airport. They had a nice visit and were the first guest to enjoy the new hide-a-bed in the den. My Mom was here for Xmas as well and got to sleep on the futon downstairs.

We had six people in the house for 3 nights and everything worked out well.

I returned my cable modem to brighthouse after taking Pete and Terry to the airport.
We got Uverse installed here a week ago and it's working well. We have faster Internet, 150 channels in the basement as opposed to 8 and more channels upstairs as well.

I was on Netflix Instant Viewing today and watched a bit of "Friday Night Lights". It's a pretty good show. I also like the soundtrack from the group called "Explosions in the Sky". Good stuff.

Indie rock.

Artist: Chris Walla
Song: Sing Again
Album: Field Manual

1) I am a big Death Cab for Cutie fan

2) Chris Walla (DCFC producer and band member) is coming out with a solo album.

An mp3 has been released off of the upcoming record.

I couldn't find the lyrics to the song so I figured them out myself

http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2007/11/12/free-mp3-chris-wallas-sing-again/

I've transcribed the lyrics:

It was not tricky to enjoy
A cigarette in hand was a key to understanding
To seek out and to destroy
A mindless oversight
A string of faithless nights

We sing again sing together with quiet eyes
I lower my chin to my chest
I thought that would be best

Another pounding of the bricks
Bundles of cells dividing
South Dakota driving

Where the darkest dirty tricks
If we still cared at all
We'd Send a battle cross

Sing again, sing together with fiery eyes
A rancor alive in our chests
No this is not a test

Let's sing again, sing together without disguise
Let's raise up a song in unrest
I think that would be best.

It's important
You will hear the noises
You will feel the breaking
It's all yours for the taking.

A mind packed full of mindless joy
Is not easy to enjoy, ohhh.

Yes, I have listened to this song about 30 times today.......

August 17,2007

Doreen has arrived from Germany and will be attending Broad Ripple High School.

She has been here two weeks and the adjustment has gone pretty well so far.

Tonight the 3 of us drove up to BRHS and attended the BRHS vs Chatard football game.

Chatard, the catholic high school down the street won the game easily 42-6. I think Chatard was state champs last year.

Last weekend I went to attend Ted Rechner's wedding on Long Island. My flight was

delayed 3 hours but I eventually made it out to Holtsville, NY.

I had a great time with Bill the Cat, Mahk the Schmahk, Qupes, Ted and the rest of the crew.
